The plot thickens! SOMA’s fall concert features three works that have a story to tell. We open with the Scènes historiques, Op. 25, of Jean Sibelius, a celebration of Finnish nationalism. Tenor Emmanuel Cruz will join the orchestra for a selection of Mozart’s concert arias, standalone works of operatic intensity. Tchaikovsky’s symphonic poem Francesca da Rimini, telling the story of the two tragic lovers recounted in Dante’s Inferno, closes the program.
